Hynfra Partners with Promet-Plast to Roll Out Hydrogen Technologies Across MENA

Hynfra has entered a strategic partnership with Polish industrial plastics manufacturer and energy integration specialist Promet-Plast to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen technologies across the Middle East and North Africa. The collaboration was formalized through a Letter of Intent signed by Hynfra CEO Tomoho Umeda and Promet-Plast founder Andrzej Jeżewski.

The agreement will support Hynfra’s green ammonia project pipeline across Egypt, Oman, Jordan, and Mauritania, with Promet-Plast’s renewable energy, storage, and hydrogen integration technologies applied to developments totaling 1.1 million tonnes per year. The partnership aims to strengthen system integration, reduce development risk, and improve project bankability in emerging hydrogen and ammonia markets.

Promet-Plast brings experience from its Oława ECO Energy Cluster in Poland, a fully integrated renewable energy, storage, and hydrogen system that serves as a testbed for its proprietary Agro-Hydro-Energy (AHE) platform. The AHE system is specifically designed for arid environments and addresses critical challenges such as water scarcity and resource management, which often constrain large-scale hydrogen and ammonia projects in the MENA region.

For Hynfra, the alliance enhances its technical capabilities and positions the company more competitively within the global hydrogen economy. Promet-Plast has also recently secured approximately €30 million in funding from the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility to develop an installation for renewable fuel of non-biological origin (RFNBO) hydrogen production.
