Ottu, a regional fintech provider, has signed a strategic agreement with Mastercard to accelerate digital commerce across the Gulf Cooperation Council. The partnership integrates Mastercard Merchant Cloud with Ottu’s payment management capabilities, enabling enterprises to scale more efficiently while offering locally relevant payment methods across Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
Through the collaboration, Ottu will leverage Mastercard Merchant Cloud, a unified payments platform that connects merchants to more than 200 acquirers and enables acceptance at over 110 million locations globally. Businesses will gain access to a broad range of international and local payment options through a single integration, simplifying operations and reducing complexity as they expand across regional and global markets.
Talal AlAwadhi, CEO of Ottu, said the partnership reflects a shared ambition to reimagine digital payments in the region by creating a streamlined ecosystem that allows enterprises to grow with confidence. Mastercard Merchant Cloud brings advanced capabilities such as network tokenization, fraud detection, and strong authentication tools, alongside access to a growing portfolio of commerce-enabling services.
Maria Parpou, Executive Vice President at Mastercard Merchant Cloud, said the collaboration supports customer demand for locally relevant payment methods while delivering a seamless experience through one integration. Combined with Ottu’s Online Payments Management Solution, the partnership aims to build a more inclusive, scalable, and secure digital payments landscape across the GCC.
