AAAB signs MoU with Aleph to advance digital advertising capability in Bangladesh

The Advertising Agencies Association of Bangladesh (AAAB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aleph, the authorised commercial partner of global digital platforms including Google and TikTok in Bangladesh, to strengthen the country’s digital advertising ecosystem through skills development, ethical standards, and global exposure.

The MoU was signed in Dhaka in the presence of senior representatives from both organisations. AAAB was represented by its President Sanaul Arefeen, General Secretary Syed Ahsanul Apon, and Joint Secretary MA Maruf, while Aleph was represented by Ehsanul Hoque, Country Director for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and Ahsanur Rahman, Partner Director for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The partnership brings together AAAB, the apex body representing advertising agencies in Bangladesh, and Aleph, with the shared objective of professionalising and standardising digital advertising practices. The collaboration aims to enhance industry skills, promote ethical conduct, and improve data transparency, while aligning with national priorities around digital transformation, employment generation, and export growth.

Under a structured framework titled Enablement, Enhance, Expand (3E), the initiative will deliver free global digital advertising certifications for junior professionals and fresh graduates from AAAB member agencies. It will also include joint workshops and training programmes hosted at Aleph’s Dhaka facility, designated as a Preferred AAAB Learning Hub, alongside leadership masterclasses for agency owners and senior executives.

In addition, the partnership will see the co-publication of a bi-annual State of Digital Advertising in Bangladesh report and the introduction of a Digital Advertising Code of Conduct covering brand safety, ad transparency, and platform compliance. Selected Bangladeshi campaigns may also be featured in Aleph’s global case studies, subject to consent.

Both AAAB and Aleph expressed confidence that the collaboration will help build a more skilled, ethical, and globally competitive digital advertising industry in Bangladesh.
