Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information, received on Monday Salman bin Yousef al Dosari, Minister of Media of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at his office in Muscat, as part of the Saudi minister’s official visit to the Sultanate.
The meeting highlighted the depth of the longstanding fraternal and historical relations between Oman and Saudi Arabia. Both sides underlined the steady progress achieved across all areas of bilateral cooperation, guided by the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud, together with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.
The two ministers explored ways to enhance media cooperation between the two countries. Discussions covered collaboration in journalism, television, radio, and digital and electronic media, as well as professional training initiatives and the exchange of expertise among media professionals, in line with shared interests.
They also reviewed developments shaping the media landscape, including the rapid pace of digital transformation. The talks examined the role of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in improving the quality of media content, alongside the essential awareness and guidance functions performed by the media sector.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials from both sides.
