Algiers, Algeria – January 28, 2026
ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, has participated in the 5G Vertical Industry Summit hosted by Ooredoo Algeria in Algiers, marking a significant milestone for the country’s telecommunications sector and opening a new chapter in Algeria’s digital economic and social development.
During the summit, Ooredoo Algeria demonstrated the transformative power of 5G through live speed tests, showcasing dramatically faster download speeds and ultra-low latency compared to existing networks. The demonstrations highlighted a step-change in user experience. Interactive zones featured real-world 5G applications, including a robot dog that engaged with attendees, offering a tangible glimpse into how 5G will reshape daily life and work across industries.
The successful showcase was enabled by deep collaboration between Ooredoo Algeria and ZTE. ZTE provided comprehensive technical support and assurance for the event, reflecting the strength of the partnership and a shared commitment to advancing Algeria’s digital future.
Zhang Zhe, CEO of ZTE Algeria, said the company is proud to partner with Ooredoo Algeria to accelerate 5G commercialization and empower the nation’s digital economy. Gao Song, CTO of ZTE Algeria, added that the company’s efficient, future-ready 5G solution ensures superior experience today while enabling smooth long-term evolution.
The year 2025 marks Algeria’s first year of 5G commercialization. ZTE is delivering an efficient and high-quality 5G solution for Ooredoo Algeria, including the upcoming deployment of dual-band Active Antenna Units (AAUs). These fully support the commercialized 3.5 GHz band and adopt an A+P (active and passive integration) configuration to streamline site design and tower-top layout. The approach ensures robust capacity and coverage, reduces long-term investment costs, maximizes tower space utilization, and supports large-scale, efficient network deployment.
Beyond consumer connectivity, Ooredoo Algeria’s 5G network is set to catalyze the modernization of vertical industries. In the coming years, 5G is expected to be widely applied across smart manufacturing, smart agriculture, remote education, and other sectors, injecting new momentum into Algeria’s economic development through industrial transformation and digital empowerment.
