Dialog Axiata adds govt services payments to eZ Cash

Sri Lankan telecom operator Dialog Axiata has integrated GovPay, the government’s digital payment platform for public services, into its eZ Cash mobile money ecosystem, enabling citizens to pay for government services at any of eZ Cash’s 55,000+ retail outlets nationwide.

The integration allows users across Sri Lanka to complete a wide range of government-related payments, including traffic fines, municipal council rates, divisional secretariat charges, and fees to government universities and other state institutions.

All transactions are processed via GovPay and are subject only to the standard GovPay service fee of LKR 15 (approximately US$0.15), with no additional charges imposed by Dialog.

Dialog said the nationwide rollout positions GovPay as a practical enabler of public services, supporting the government’s objective of making state services more inclusive and efficient across all regions. By leveraging eZ Cash’s extensive retail footprint, the initiative ensures equitable access for communities islandwide, including those without direct access to digital channels.

“By extending GovPay across over 55,000 eZ Cash outlets, we are helping ensure that government services are accessible through local retail outlets across the country, supporting financial inclusion and digital transformation,” said Supun Weerasinghe, Director and Group CEO of Dialog Axiata.

Eranga Weeraratne, Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, said the move ensures digital government services reach every citizen, regardless of geography or access to technology.
