Libyan European Forum for Transport and Telecoms opens in Malta

The third annual Libyan European Forum for Transport and Telecoms opened in Malta on January 30, bringing together Libyan and European officials, business leaders, and sector specialists to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities.

The forum is sponsored by Libya’s Ministry of Transport and the Libyan Telecoms Holding Company, and overseen by the Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, France’s MEDEF, and the Union of European Transport Companies. Participants include representatives from transport, communications, and IT sectors from both Libya and Europe.

Discussions focus on developing transport infrastructure, integrating modern communications technologies across land, air, and sea transport, and addressing challenges to sector development in collaboration with the European Union. The agenda also includes technical presentations and bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening economic ties and enabling investment.

Speakers highlighted Libya’s strategic geographic position as a trade corridor between Europe and Africa, underlining the country’s potential as a hub for regional connectivity and development.
