Muscat – February 18, 2026: Oman has connected 50 government schools to Starlink satellite internet as part of its broader digital infrastructure expansion, while the telecommunications sector recorded a 25% increase in revenue in 2025, reaching RO961 million.
The update was shared by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority during a media briefing reviewing sector performance between 2021 and 2025.

The TRA stated that its next-phase strategy will focus on job creation, investment attraction, revenue growth, and improved service quality. New regulations aimed at protecting users from unsolicited and fraudulent messages are expected next month.
The authority also confirmed that Telegram’s chat features are now fully accessible in Oman, following years of intermittent restrictions.
