Orange Jordan has reaffirmed its commitment to digital inclusion by supporting the third phase of the “Digital First” Project, an initiative aimed at empowering persons with disabilities through digital media, skills development, and creative expression.
The company participated in the project’s closing ceremony, held at the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), where it was recognized for sponsoring a phase that involved the production of a podcast created and hosted by four persons with disabilities.
The youth-focused social podcast, titled “Codecast,” was developed under the Digital First initiative and explored the impact of the digital world on everyday life, including its social and psychological dimensions. The project was implemented by the MADRAJ Digital Media Incubator with support from HCD and produced by Posqasti Studios.
During the ceremony, the podcast hosts were honored for their contributions to the initiative, which sought to provide participants with practical digital media experience while amplifying their voices through accessible content creation platforms.
Orange Jordan highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between the private sector, civil society, and public institutions in building a more inclusive digital society. The company stated that supporting persons with disabilities remains a key component of its broader digital inclusion strategy.
The operator has launched and supported several initiatives designed to improve digital accessibility, develop technology skills, and create employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. Among these efforts are the Persons with Disabilities Hackathon and the “Differently Abled, Definitely Enabled” initiative, which has delivered awareness and training programs since its launch in 2019.
Digital inclusion continues to be a growing priority across Jordan as government entities, telecommunications operators, and community organizations work to ensure that all citizens can participate in the country’s expanding digital economy. Programs focused on accessibility, skills development, and technology adoption are increasingly viewed as essential components of broader digital transformation strategies.
As one of Jordan’s leading telecommunications providers, Orange Jordan serves more than five million customers and continues to invest in initiatives that promote digital education, entrepreneurship, and social inclusion alongside its core connectivity services.
Editor’s Note
Digital inclusion is becoming an increasingly important pillar of national digital transformation strategies across the Middle East. While much attention is often placed on infrastructure deployment and connectivity expansion, meaningful digital progress also depends on ensuring that underserved and marginalized communities can access opportunities created by technology. Initiatives such as Digital First demonstrate how telecommunications operators are evolving beyond connectivity providers into broader digital ecosystem enablers. By supporting content creation, skills development, and accessibility-focused programs, operators can help bridge participation gaps and ensure that digital transformation delivers social as well as economic benefits. For Jordan, such efforts contribute to building a more inclusive digital economy where innovation and opportunity are accessible to all segments of society.
