Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya has teamed up with technology company Globant to develop an immersive and digitally connected experience throughout Qiddiya City. This collaboration aims to transform Qiddiya City into “one of the world’s most immersive entertainment hubs,” as stated in a recent press release.
Together, Globant and the Qiddiya Investment Company will establish a cutting-edge digital ecosystem for Qiddiya City, which is envisioned as a destination for entertainment, sports, and culture. The initiative, named ‘Play Life Connected Experience,’ will utilize artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and cloud technology to offer a personalized experience for visitors.
Guests will have the ability to book events, manage their itineraries, discover new experiences, and engage with the community. Abdulrahman Alali, QIC’s chief technology officer, emphasized that the project “will not only enhance how visitors engage with our attractions but also set a new standard for digital integration in entertainment and tourism.”
“We are creating a destination that is both innovative and unforgettable, and this collaboration will help ensure that every visitor’s journey is personalized, seamless, and truly unique,” he added. Federico Pienovi, CEO and chief business officer of new markets at Globant, noted, “We are not building a smart city; we are creating an immersive, digitally connected experience that brings Qiddiya to life in ways that go beyond traditional entertainment.”
Mamdouh Aldoubayan, managing director for MENA at Globant, remarked, “Projects like Qiddiya provide unparalleled opportunities to transfer our expertise in digital transformation and innovation, especially in the entertainment industry, to the new generation of Saudis.”
Qiddiya City is Qiddiya’s inaugural project and is described as the world’s first purpose-built city dedicated to play. It will feature over 400 tourist attractions and experiences, including the Aquarabia water park, Six Flags Qiddiya City, the world’s first Dragon Ball theme park, and a gaming and esports district.
