RIYADH: Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City (Misk City) has entered into a partnership with Samsung Electronics, signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on smart city technology, sustainability, and youth empowerment. The agreement was signed on Monday at the Misk Global Forum in Riyadh, which concludes on Tuesday.
David Henry, CEO of Misk City, and Hendrick Lee, President of Samsung Electronics Saudi Arabia, signed the MoU, marking a significant step towards realizing Misk City’s strategic vision of fostering innovation and creativity among Saudi youth. Henry emphasized the importance of the partnership in creating an integrated system that promotes these ideals.
Lee also expressed Samsung’s commitment to driving innovation and sustainability, stating that the partnership is aimed at developing transformative solutions to enhance urban life and empower future generations in technology. “This collaboration will benefit our communities and advance our shared goal of pioneering smart city initiatives,” Lee said.
As part of the agreement, Misk City and Samsung will work together to develop specialized training programs for Saudi youth, aimed at enhancing smart city experiences. These programs will be hosted and delivered within Misk City.
Additionally, Samsung is considering setting up a showroom in Misk City to showcase its latest artificial intelligence-powered smart technologies. The showroom would offer visitors an immersive experience of smart homes and provide insights into future technological innovations.
