Algeria is partnering with Lamina1 to build digital infrastructure centered on blockchain and immersive media. The project focuses on supporting creators, gaming, education, and IP ownership. With backing from the government, it aims to position Algeria as a tech hub in Africa, using Lamina1’s platform for content-driven digital economies.
An Algerian hacker group, “Jabaroot DZ,” attacked the CNSS on April 8, leaking personal data of nearly 2 million employees. While much of the data was found to be inaccurate, the breach raised concerns about the CNSS’s digital security. The attack was reportedly in retaliation for Moroccan hackers’ actions.

L’Algérienne Vie (AGLIC) has partnered with Banque Nationale d’Algérie (BNA) to launch a digital solution for underwriting and paying insurance policies online via the “WIMPAY-BNA” app. AGLIC reported a 154.3% increase in net profit for 2023, reaching 501 million DZD, with a return on equity of 31%.

Additionally, it recently expanded loan offerings to include both investment and operating loans.
Algeria will launch the “DZ MOB PAY” mobile payment system in January 2025, enabling secure smartphone transactions. The platform aims to boost financial inclusion and digitalization, offering free and user-friendly services. With key institutions leading the initiative, it marks a pivotal step in Algeria’s digital payment ecosystem.
