The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) in Bahrain has launched updated card reader software, allowing seamless data reading from both new and old ID cards. The updated software enhances security and expands digital transaction capabilities, supporting multiple sectors like healthcare, banking, and telecommunications. Bahrain also leads the Gulf with a travel app in the ID card.
Bahrain’s iGA launched the MyGov app as part of its plan to consolidate government services into three platforms: MyGov for individuals, AlTajir for businesses, and Bahrain for visitors. With 100,000 downloads in two weeks, the app will integrate more services in 2025, enhancing public service delivery and digital transformation.
Bahrain has launched the My Gov app, providing 41 eServices from nine government entities. Developed in partnership with CrediMax, the app offers a unified login and integrates with eKey 2.0 for accessing personal documents. It reflects the country’s commitment to digital transformation and enhancing user experience.
Bahrain has launched the “Global Digital Twinning for eGovernment Excellence” initiative, part of its collaboration with the United Nations. The program aims to share Bahrain’s digital governance expertise to help partner countries improve their digital services. The iGA highlighted Bahrain’s digital transformation and successful implementation of advanced technologies.
The 74th ICT Governance Committee meeting in Bahrain, chaired by Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, reviewed significant digital initiatives, including a virtual court project, an EV charger payment app, and an animal registration system. Bahrain also celebrated its ranking of 18th in the UN’s eGovernment Development report 2024.
