Jordan and Syria are exploring new collaboration in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and tech infrastructure. A Jordanian delegation led by Minister Sami Smeirat visited Damascus University to review digital education systems and discuss academic partnerships in AI, cybersecurity and emerging technologies aimed at boosting youth digital skills.
Jordan climbed six spots to 44th in the 2025 IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking, reflecting national progress in digital transformation, education, and innovation under the Economic Modernization Vision. The achievement strengthens Jordan’s position as a regional hub for technology and entrepreneurship.
Jordan rose to 44th globally and 7th among Arab nations in the 2025 Global Digital Competitiveness Index, reflecting steady improvements in digital knowledge, technology, and future readiness.
Jordan will host the second Invest in Digital Economy Forum, co-organized by JCC and ICCD, under the theme “Digital Transformation for a Global Sustainable Economy.” The event will unite OIC member states, investors, and entrepreneurs to explore AI, cybersecurity, fintech, and regional investment opportunities in the digital economy.
Jordan’s 5G subscriptions grew by 37% in Q3 2024, with over 70,000 5G users by the end of the quarter. The country has made significant strides in 5G infrastructure, with 230 operational towers. Experts believe this growth will foster economic development, job creation, and further digital transformation.
