Egypt’s mobile wallet sector saw an 80% increase in transactions in Q2 2025, reaching 718 million, with a total value of EGP 943 billion. Active wallets rose to 46.3 million, led by Vodafone Cash. Nepal Telecom has reversed its decision to impose a minimum Rs 50 top-up amount for digital payments. Customers can now top up from as little as Rs 10 through mobile wallets and banking services like eSewa, Khalti, and IME Pay, improving flexibility for users.
Nepal Telecom (NTC) has set the minimum recharge amount at Rs 50, meaning recharges below this amount will no longer be allowed. This change, also adopted by Ncell, follows a reported loss of Rs 1 million in recharge cards by NTC. The policy aims to streamline recharge processes.
