Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Teletalk Bangladesh Limited signed an agreement on March 4, 2025, to provide corporate digital services, including affordable internet, to support the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) under DSCC’s Health Department. The collaboration aims to improve service delivery and access to health services.
Teletalk plans a Tk 50 crore 4G network expansion to provide mobile coverage to Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar. The project will install 33 towers in key areas, improving connectivity for 350,000 mobile users. Approval is pending from the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Ministry of Home Affairs for SIM registration.
Telecom experts suggest that Teletalk, Bangladesh’s state-owned mobile operator, can revitalize its services through significant investment and innovative strategies. Recommendations include a joint venture with BTCL and a focus on data services to improve customer engagement and operational efficiency, addressing current challenges and enhancing competitiveness in the telecom market.
