Public sector entities in Egypt, such as Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries, are embracing this shift, leveraging SAP’s state-of-the-art solutions, including the Digital Manufacturing Cloud and SAP Signavio. Abu Qir’s foray into digital advancements like AI, blockchain, and IoT, in collaboration with technology provider Solex, marks a significant step in integrating real-time analytics into product costing and inventory management, all while promoting sustainable practices.
Abed Ezz El Regal, Abu Qir Fertilizers’ Chairman, highlighted the company’s journey toward operational excellence through digital innovation, emphasizing the synergy between profitability and environmental stewardship.
Similarly, Alexandria Mineral Oils Company (AMOC) has undertaken a digital overhaul aligning with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Ministry of Petroleum’s modernization program. By implementing SAP’s Best Practices, AMOC is enhancing its operational infrastructure, asset management, and analytics, according to Chairman Amr Lotfy. This digital elevation supports AMOC’s integration with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and enhances managerial decision-making processes.
SAP’s Cairo event was also a showcase for their suite of sustainability solutions aimed at helping organizations manage their carbon footprint and comply with global environmental standards, echoing Egypt’s sustainability goals outlined in Vision 2030.
Mohammed Samy, Managing Director for SAP in Egypt, reaffirmed SAP’s commitment to the energy sector’s sustainability. He stated, “Our role transcends the provision of technological solutions; we are helping the industry align with essential sustainability standards.”
In the backdrop of this initiative, a SAP-commissioned YouGov survey revealed an overwhelming 86% of Egyptian companies are gearing up for investments in digital transformation and sustainability, mirroring the national objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
