Amman, Jordan: Jordan Source, a program under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE), had a prominent presence at the inaugural European Union-Jordan Business Forum (EUJBF). Held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II, the event took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Amman on June 11, 2024.

At the forum, Jordan Source engaged policymakers, local entrepreneurs, and international investors at its booth, fostering connections and promoting Jordan’s resources for growth and development. The program also participated in a session titled “Connectivity & Digital Investment Sectors,” where His Excellency Ahmad Hanandeh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, delivered a keynote address.

In his speech, Minister Hanandeh highlighted Jordan’s pioneering spirit and significant achievements in the ICT sector. Despite representing only 3% of the MENA population, Jordan has founded 27 of the region’s top 100 ICT startups, including notable companies like Maktoub, Jawaker, and Mawdoo3. He emphasized the fertile ground Jordan provides for foreign enterprises, with tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon, and Cisco already benefiting from their investments.

Hanandeh outlined Jordan Source’s role in bridging global corporations with the Jordanian market, emphasizing the country’s talent pool of seasoned experts and enthusiastic youth. “The launch of the EU-Jordan Business Forum marks another ‘first’ for our country, and we are truly honored to be part of such a historical event. This forum presents a unique opportunity to showcase Jordan’s thriving ICT sector and explore avenues for collaboration with European partners. We at Jordan Source believe in the significance of this dialogue and its role in advancing our mission to position Jordan as a global leader in ICT,” he said.

The event gathered over 160 business organizations and international institutions, offering a platform to explore policy directions, identify trade and investment opportunities, address challenges, and forge strategic partnerships. Through panel discussions, presentations, and networking sessions, participants aimed to promote sustainable and inclusive growth in Jordan.
