The Moroccan Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform has signed a strategic partnership with the Research, Development, and Innovation Foundation in Science and Engineering (FRDISI) to advance digital research and innovation. The agreement, signed by Minister Ghita Mezour and FRDISI Chairman Andre Azoulay in Rabat, focuses on fostering innovation and developing young talent in digital fields.
A key element of the partnership is the support for 18 doctoral thesis projects in digital disciplines, providing scholars with monthly scholarships and ongoing mentorship for three years. This initiative aligns with King Mohammed VI’s vision to cultivate a skilled workforce for the digital age, promoting future professions and a culture of innovation.
The collaboration aims to address Morocco’s digital skills gap, with the goal of increasing the ICT sector’s contribution to GDP from 3% to 11% and creating 125,000 new jobs. By investing in education and research, Morocco continues to bolster its digital economy and foster an environment for innovation to flourish.
