The Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority (DECCA) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital Dewa, during Gitex 2024. The agreement, signed by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), and Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, Director General of DECCA, aims to embed sustainable practices into various sectors through innovative cloud solutions.
Additionally, Moro Hub awarded DECCA a Green Certificate for adopting Moro Cloud for its IT operations, marking a significant step in DECCA’s digital transformation with an emphasis on environmental responsibility.
Commitment to Sustainable Digital Solutions
Al Tayer highlighted the alignment of this partnership with the visions of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, which include the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. These strategies aim for Dubai’s energy production to be fully powered by clean energy sources by 2050.
“This partnership will pioneer sustainable practices and offer a range of sustainable digital solutions that help reduce carbon emissions and tackle climate change,” Al Tayer noted, emphasizing the integration of fourth industrial revolution technologies such as AI, cloud computing, and IoT to boost environmental sustainability.

Enhancing IT Infrastructure with Cloud Solutions
As part of this collaboration, Moro Hub will provide DECCA with cloud hosting services for key applications, with future plans to expand these services. This initiative will kick-start a comprehensive IT overhaul tailored to meet DECCA’s operational needs while ensuring high standards of efficiency, security, and scalability.
