Tech Mahindra Launches Centre of Excellence Powered by NVIDIA to Drive AI Innovations

Tech Mahindra, a leading global provider of technology consulting and digital solutions, has announced the establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) powered by NVIDIA platforms. This initiative aims to advance sovereign large language model (LLM) frameworks, agentic AI, and physical AI.

Utilizing the Tech Mahindra Optimised Framework, the CoE harnesses the capabilities of the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform, including NVIDIA NeMo, NVIDIA NIM microservices, and NVIDIA RAPIDS. This will allow Tech Mahindra to deliver customized, enterprise-grade AI applications that help clients integrate agentic AI into their business operations. Agentic AI enhances productivity by enabling AI applications to learn, reason, and take actions independently. The CoE will also leverage the NVIDIA Omniverse platform to create connected industrial AI digital twins and physical AI applications across various sectors, including manufacturing, automotive, telecommunications, healthcare, banking, financial services, and insurance.

In conjunction with the CoE, Tech Mahindra has developed Project Indus 2.0, an advanced AI model powered by NVIDIA NeMo that focuses on Hindi and several dialects such as Bhojpuri, Dogri, and Maithili. Project Indus 2.0 aims to serve multiple sectors in India, including retail, banking, healthcare, and citizen services. It is positioned as a state-of-the-art LLM that enhances Hindi and dialect conversations. Looking ahead, Indus 2.0 plans to incorporate agentic workflows and support more dialects, offering a nuanced and effective AI solution tailored to India’s diverse linguistic and cultural landscape.

Atul Soneja, Chief Operating Officer of Tech Mahindra, stated, “Tech Mahindra is redefining the boundaries of AI innovation. By collaborating with NVIDIA, we are setting a new benchmark for enterprise-grade AI development by seamlessly integrating GenAI, industrial AI, and sovereign large language models into the core of global enterprises and industries.”

Additionally, Tech Mahindra will utilize the new NVIDIA NIM Agent Blueprint for customer service to assist call center clients in building custom AI virtual assistants that can support human agents in quickly resolving issues.

John Fanelli, Vice President of Enterprise Software at NVIDIA, remarked, “Built with NVIDIA technology, Tech Mahindra’s CoE will accelerate the development and adoption of sovereign AI LLMs and applications tailored for India’s diverse industries and linguistic landscape. Our collaboration with Tech Mahindra is establishing a foundation for AI-driven innovation in the region and worldwide.”

The CoE, situated within Tech Mahindra’s Makers Lab in Pune and Hyderabad, represents a significant milestone in the organization’s efforts to mainstream GenAI, LLMs, and digital twins, providing innovative solutions for enterprises and end users alike.
