e& enterprise, the digital transformation arm of e&, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sergas Group, a UAE-based provider of gas system solutions, to improve safety and sustainability in the gas distribution networks across the GCC region.
The three-year partnership focuses on developing cutting-edge digital solutions to enhance safety in compliance with local regulations. Together, e& enterprise and Sergas Group will co-develop a range of smart solutions, including smart meters, digital payment platforms, IoT-enabled systems, Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services, multi-cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and custom software development. These solutions will be implemented across both existing and new gas distribution networks throughout the region.
The collaboration will also integrate technologies that enable early detection of incidents, enhancing the ability to respond quickly and improve safety measures. These innovations, developed in close collaboration with civil defense authorities, will further contribute to the security of gas utilities in the region.
In addition to improving safety, these smart solutions will support sustainability by facilitating the transparent measurement of gas consumption and customer contributions to sustainable practices. The collaboration empowers both gas providers and consumers to actively engage in energy efficiency and sustainability efforts.
Ragi Magdy, Chief Commercial Officer at e& enterprise, stated: “The future of energy lies in building intelligent, sustainable networks that extend beyond traditional utility frameworks. By leveraging advanced technologies, including AI, we aim to enhance safety and operational efficiency across gas distribution systems. Through smart solutions, we strive to democratize consumer participation in sustainable energy practices. This collaboration with Sergas Group sets new benchmarks for safety and environmental responsibility in the region.”
Mohamed Damak, CEO of Sergas Group, commented: “Our commitment to pioneering advancements in gas filling systems prioritizes safety and sustainability. Our partnership with e& enterprise reflects the valued guidance and support from UAE Civil Defense, the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, and Civil Defence bodies across the GCC. Together, we are introducing state-of-the-art technologies that enable remote monitoring and control of gas operations, significantly enhancing safety standards.”
This strategic partnership expands e& enterprise’s expertise into the gas sector, complementing its established presence in electricity and water utilities through collaborations such as with Etihad Water & Electricity. It also allows Sergas Group to offer more differentiated and safer services to both new and existing customers.
Through this partnership, e& enterprise and Sergas Group aim to set a new standard for safety, transparency, and environmental accountability in the region, ultimately contributing to a more resilient and sustainable gas infrastructure.
