On December 6, 2024, the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL) and the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in space science and technology. The signing ceremony, co-chaired by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa during his state visit to Algeria, marked a significant step in bilateral cooperation.
The MoU was signed by Azzedine Oussedik, Director General of ASAL, and Humbulani Mudau, Director General of SANSA. The agreement aims to foster cooperation in space science and technology for peaceful purposes. This includes the development of joint projects in space technologies and applications, as well as the promotion of the exchange of experience and information between the two countries.
