China firm PIESAT boosts Pakistan AI cooperation

Chinese aerospace company PIESAT participated in the AI Rise Expo 2025 in Islamabad, showcasing advanced capabilities in satellite communications, earth observation, and drone technologies as part of efforts to deepen China–Pakistan cooperation in artificial intelligence and space technologies.

During the event, PIESAT representatives held discussions with officials from Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, where they shared updates on satellite manufacturing initiatives and plans for a satellite internet constellation under an existing bilateral agreement between the two countries.

Pakistani officials highlighted the strategic importance of satellite and AI-driven technologies for national priorities such as disaster management, agricultural monitoring, and urban planning. They reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to expanding collaboration with China in space technology, digital innovation, and applied AI solutions.

The engagement at AI Rise Expo 2025 reflects the growing scope of China–Pakistan technological cooperation, with space-based data, connectivity, and AI applications increasingly positioned as enablers of economic development and public-sector resilience.
