Morocco Launches “DigiSchool” Initiative with Huawei to Boost Digital Education

Morocco has launched the “DigiSchool” initiative in collaboration with Huawei Maroc as part of its efforts to accelerate digital transformation in the country. This project, developed in partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of Education, is designed to integrate emerging technologies into the education system, ensuring equitable access to digital tools for all students nationwide.

The initiative is part of Morocco’s 2022-2026 digital transformation roadmap. It aims to revolutionize the education sector by providing teachers and students with the digital skills needed for the future. As part of the project’s launch, 265 teachers across Morocco participated in training workshops focused on the pedagogical use of emerging technologies.

Over 2,650 students benefited from the initiative through hands-on projects involving technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality, and web and mobile development. The program also included intensive bootcamps at regional education and training academies in the Marrakech-Safi, Fez-Meknes, and Souss Massa regions. These bootcamps provided personalized support to help participants refine their prototypes and enhance their digital skills.

Minister of Education Mohamed Saad Berrada and Huawei Morocco Vice President Chen Xiaolei visited the Agadir region as part of the initiative. The visit was aimed at boosting engagement, promoting academic excellence, and closely monitoring the teams participating in the workshops.

David Li, CEO of Huawei Morocco, emphasized the company’s commitment to the collaboration, stating that the “DigiSchool” initiative underscores the importance of strengthening digital skills and public-private partnerships. This partnership is seen as a key driver of a resilient digital ecosystem.

This initiative is part of Huawei’s ongoing efforts to support Morocco’s digital transition. In October, Huawei Morocco also announced a partnership with Hassan II University of Casablanca to enhance digital skills among Moroccan youth.
