Reboot Coding Institute Advances Bahrain’s Digital Transformation with Specialized Developer Training

Reboot Coding Institute, or Reboot01, is contributing to Bahrain’s digital transformation by providing specialized training in AI, cybersecurity, and FinTech. In partnership with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and supported by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), the institute follows the global educational platform 01Edu to ensure its training meets industry demands.

The institute’s two-year program is focused on developing mid-to-senior-level full-stack developers, with 400 students enrolled as of December 2024. Notably, 34% of the student base are women, reflecting Reboot01’s commitment to making tech careers accessible to diverse backgrounds.

Reboot01 partners with over 20 industry leaders to bridge the gap between education and employment. These collaborations offer students valuable opportunities for paid internships, job placements, and industry-driven projects. Companies like Raincode, ila Bank, Array Innovation, and Flooss have already hired Reboot01 graduates. Raincode, a Swedish developer firm, has even set up a developer hub in Bahrain and plans to hire 80 Reboot01-trained engineers by the end of 2025.

A recent assessment by Raincode using the Alva Labs platform showed that Reboot01 students exceeded European technical proficiency standards. Connor de Freene, Managing Director of Raincode, praised the innovative mindset of Reboot01 graduates, emphasizing their valuable contributions to the company’s Bahrain hub.

Reboot01 continues to expand its curriculum, recently adding Java specialization for banking and healthcare sectors, as well as short courses in AI, cybersecurity, and Cloud DevOps. In partnership with Bahrain FinTech Bay, the institute has also launched the MENA Innovation Academy, with its first course on “Artificial Intelligence in FinTech” beginning in January 2025, led by a professor from UC Berkeley.

This initiative aligns with Bahrain’s National Economic Recovery Plan and Vision 2030, which aim to position the country as a hub for tech talent. Reboot01’s efforts are integral to achieving these goals, helping advance the Kingdom’s digital economy and reinforcing its reputation as a hub for talent and innovation. The next cohort selection begins on January 12, 2025.
