Konecta Group Expands Operations in Egypt with $100 Million Investment and Regional Headquarters

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly oversaw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and “Konecta Egypt,” a subsidiary of the global digital and CX AI leader, Konecta. The signing ceremony, which was attended by Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Nourdine Bihmane, Group CEO of Konecta, marks the beginning of Konecta’s operations in Egypt.

The MoU was signed by Eng. Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, and Mr. Ahmed El-Harany, CEO of Konecta for the Middle East and Africa. Under the MoU, Konecta Group will establish its regional headquarters in New Cairo, serving markets across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The company is set to invest approximately $100 million over the next three years, with plans to hire nearly 3,000 specialists. The services offered will include advanced digital and technical services such as AI solutions, digital transformation, cybersecurity, big data & analytics, IoT, technical support, and multilingual customer services in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

In addition, Konecta will set up its first Global Center of Excellence (CoE) for Gen-AI in Egypt, leveraging the group’s knowledge and expertise to serve its global delivery operations. The partnership will also focus on joint initiatives, such as specialized training and upskilling programs with ITIDA to enhance the global competitiveness of Egyptian talent, boosting Egypt’s IT and communication technology exports.

The growing offshoring industry and increasing interest from global companies in establishing service centers in Egypt highlight the country’s competitiveness in providing high-quality digital services backed by a skilled talent pool. The Egyptian government is committed to creating a business-friendly environment for companies in this sector and supporting the workforce with the necessary skills to keep pace with technological advancements.

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated, “Konecta’s decision to expand its operations in Egypt will not only create valuable job opportunities but will also play a key role in developing young talents to meet the increasing demand for outsourcing services in European, American, and Middle Eastern markets.”
