Eyouth, an Egyptian edtech company, has partnered with Singapore-based global education consultancy EDT& Partners to develop digital skills for one million youth across Africa and the Middle East. The collaboration, backed by a $6 million investment, aims to train individuals aged 15 to 35 in areas such as AI, programming, data analysis, digital marketing, and modern pedagogy.
The programme will leverage Eyouth’s established platform and expertise in skills development across the MENA region, along with EDT& Partners’ innovative educational technologies and frameworks. Set to launch in February 2025, the initiative will provide financial support to qualified educators in the region.
Pablo Langa, Founder and Managing Partner of EDT& Partners, emphasized the importance of education in driving economic and societal growth, particularly in closing the digital skills gap and enhancing the region’s competitiveness through AI. Mostafa Abdel Latif, Co-Founder and CEO of Eyouth, stated that the partnership aims to accelerate and empower one million youth to unlock their potential and drive innovation.
Hussein Ayoub, Regional Director for the MEA at EDT& Partners, highlighted the synergy between Eyouth’s skills development platform and EDT& Partners’ scalable global educational solutions, creating one of the most innovative training initiatives in the world.
With the global digital skills gap estimated at $2.50 trillion, the MENA region faces significant challenges in bridging this gap. By 2030, the world will need an additional 44 million teachers, with North Africa and West Asia requiring 4.3 million. This partnership aims to address these challenges while preparing youth for future career opportunities.
