Meta has announced the gradual rollout of its AI assistant, Meta AI, across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The service is now fully available in key markets, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, and Iraq, with plans to expand further across the region.
Integrated within Meta’s suite of apps—Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp—Meta AI can be accessed through a blue circle icon. It does not require any registration and can be activated in group chats by typing “@meta AI.” The assistant is designed to help with tasks such as research, brainstorming, and planning.
Meta AI runs on Meta’s Llama 3.2, an open-source large language model that supports text generation, as well as image creation and animation within Meta apps. In addition, the service now offers support for Arabic, making it more accessible to users across the MENA region. This expansion is expected to enhance a variety of everyday activities, from project planning to creative work.
As part of the rollout, Meta is launching a content series called “Elevating Every Moment,” which will guide users on how to maximize the potential of Meta AI. This series includes collaborations with regional content creators and provides practical tips and examples. A supplementary educational series will also be available on Meta Arabia’s official page, offering techniques for crafting effective prompts.
Meta has also outlined plans to introduce more advanced multimodal features in the near future. Upcoming tools will include simultaneous dubbing for Reels content, real-time image editing, and a feature called “Imagine Me” that generates personalized portraits for editing. Additionally, Meta is working on enhanced tools for caption creation for social media posts.
