Bangladesh Hosts International Symposium on Spectrum Management with Global Participation

A three-day international symposium on spectrum management, organized by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), kicked off on Tuesday. The event brings together 200 representatives from telecommunications and IT regulatory agencies, telecom operators, government officials, and experts from countries including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and others.

The symposium, aimed at discussing the outcomes of the World Radio Communication Conference-2023 in Dubai, as well as new ICT innovations, spectrum management policies, and regulatory issues, features participation from leading global companies and organizations. These include CISCO, INMARSAT, GSMA, KDDI Corporation, Amazon, Meta, Qualcomm, Huawei Technologies, and Telenor Asia.

The event is chaired by BTRC Chairman Major General Md Emdad Ul Bari (retired), with Md Mushfiqur Rahman, Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division, as the chief guest. Masanori Kondo, APT Secretary General, is also attending as a special guest. The symposium aims to foster regional cooperation in spectrum management and address emerging challenges in the ICT sector. The event is scheduled to conclude on Thursday.
