Telecom Egypt and Orange Egypt Strengthen Strategic Partnership with Landmark Service Agreements

Telecom Egypt has entered into several key service agreements with Orange Egypt, aiming to boost strategic cooperation and enhance technological services. These agreements, valued at approximately EGP 15 billion, will focus on expanding digital infrastructure and advancing service offerings in the Egyptian market.

The agreements, which extend transmission services for an additional three years, will continue until 2032. They also include a new contract for fiber-to-the-site (FTTS) services, which will connect Orange Egypt’s mobile sites over a three-year period.

In addition, a service-level agreement (SLA) was signed to reinforce Orange Egypt’s leadership in high-speed mobile internet and telecommunications services, supporting its preparation for the rollout of 5G. Amendments to the existing fixed internet services agreement will enhance cost-efficiency, enabling Orange to offer more competitive pricing and superior service packages to its customers.

The agreements were signed by Mohamed Nasr, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, and Yasser Shaker, Managing Director and CEO of Orange Egypt, with the presence of H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Mohamed Shamroukh, CEO of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA).

H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing telecommunications services for citizens. Recent initiatives, such as the launch of 5G services, embedded SIM (eSIM), and Wi-Fi Calling, have significantly upgraded services. He also highlighted the NTRA’s collaboration with mobile operators to expand mobile towers across Egypt, including both urban and rural areas, with mobile tower coverage expected to reach all “Decent Life” villages by mid-2025 at a cost of EGP 9 billion.

Yasser Shaker expressed Orange Egypt’s satisfaction with the continued partnership with Telecom Egypt, noting that these agreements would enhance operational capacity, improve efficiency, and solidify Orange’s position as a leading telecom provider in Egypt. He also extended his thanks to Dr. Talaat for his support and presence during the agreement signing.

Mohamed Nasr expressed Telecom Egypt’s pride in strengthening its long-term relationship with Orange Egypt. He emphasized that these agreements will support Orange’s growth and improve its ability to deliver high-speed fixed internet services. Telecom Egypt’s investments in expanding its fiber-optic network will support the connectivity of over 1,000 of Orange Egypt’s mobile sites, reinforcing Telecom Egypt’s role as the preferred partner for telecom operators in Egypt.
