Bahrain to Merge Nine Government Apps into MyGov App by 2025

Bahrain’s Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has announced plans to merge nine government applications into the newly launched MyGov app, aiming for completion within a year. Mohammed Al Qaed, iGA’s Chief Executive, explained that the project will consolidate existing apps into three primary categories: MyGov for individuals, Al Tajir for businesses, and Bahrain app for visitors. Certain apps, such as eKey 2.0, will remain as support features due to their specific nature.

In the first quarter of 2025, the initial phase of the MyGov app’s development was implemented, including the integration of services from the BeAware Bahrain app, which will be discontinued. Additionally, the Bahrain Post and Electricity and Water apps were merged, with their phased removal based on user experience analysis.

The second phase, planned for the second quarter of 2025, will integrate services from the eTraffic and Islamiyat apps into MyGov, followed by the addition of services from the Sehati, Wejhati, and eShabab apps. The integration was prompted by the high usage rates of these apps.

Along with the app consolidation, 19 additional eServices will be added to MyGov, and the second phase will include the display of various documents and certificates. A unified payment feature will also be introduced, allowing users to make payments for services such as criminal orders and traffic violations.

The MyGov app has already gained significant popularity, with 100,000 downloads within just two weeks of its launch. Citizens and residents can access the app via the eGovernment App Store at bahrain.bh/apps. For further inquiries or feedback, users can contact the Government Services Contact Centre at 80008001 or use the Tawasul system.
