Xsolla, a global video game commerce company, has expanded its payment solutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by introducing 11 new local payment methods. These include services like Fawry Cash, Aman, Masary, Momken, Vodafone Wallet, Orange Cash Wallet, and Mobile & Banking Wallets in Egypt; Sadad in Saudi Arabia; eFAWATEERcom in Jordan; and STC Direct Carrier Billing in Bahrain.
The MENA region, home to over 380 million gamers, is one of the fastest-growing gaming markets globally, with a reported 8.9% year-on-year growth in 2024, according to Newzoo. However, issues such as limited payment options, a lack of local services, and low trust in non-regional payment methods have historically slowed market growth.
To address these challenges, Xsolla is offering:
- Broad Payment Access: Supporting 11 local payment methods for secure and seamless transactions across a large gaming audience.
- Preferred Regional Methods: Incorporating popular services like Fawry Cash, which accounts for 55% of cash payments in Egypt, and Sadad in Saudi Arabia, both of which are trusted by local consumers.
- Mobile-First Solutions: Catering to the mobile-focused gaming market, with mobile games accounting for 52.1% of gaming revenue in 2024, through support for mobile wallets and carrier billing.
- Enhanced Revenue Opportunities: Enabling developers and publishers to reach a fast-growing gamer base and increase transactions.
Chris Hewish, Chief Strategy Officer at Xsolla, emphasized, “Expanding our payment offerings in the MENA region allows us to connect developers with millions of underserved gamers in this rapidly evolving market. With a tech-savvy, youthful population and the swift adoption of digital wallets and mobile payments, the MENA region offers developers a significant growth opportunity.”
