Ericsson and Ooredoo Qatar Partner to Drive 5G-Powered Digital Transformation

Ericsson, a global leader in communication technology, has signed a strategic agreement with Ooredoo Qatar to accelerate digital transformation across enterprises and public sector organizations in the country.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focuses on the development of industry-specific 5G solutions, leveraging Ericsson Private 5G to create dedicated network solutions for key sectors, including manufacturing, airports, and oil and gas. This collaboration aims to enhance connectivity, security, and efficiency within these industries.

Ericsson Private 5G delivers high-performance network capabilities, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-speed 4G and 5G connectivity. With its advanced dual-mode core and industry-leading radio portfolio, it sets new benchmarks in network performance. Additionally, the partnership will support mission-critical applications such as public safety, digital airspace management, and rail transport, offering enhanced network availability, multi-network operations, robust security, and superior Quality of Service (QoS).

Beyond technological advancements, the collaboration will also explore sustainability initiatives by utilizing 5G connectivity to reduce environmental impact, support decarbonization efforts, and build a more sustainable network ecosystem. Through knowledge-sharing and joint initiatives, Ericsson and Ooredoo Qatar aim to accelerate progress toward Net Zero emissions.

Under the agreement, Ericsson will provide its private 5G and mission-critical network solutions, introduce ecosystem partners, and share global best practices, use cases, and industry references. The company will also collaborate with Ooredoo in engaging enterprises and public sector organizations through knowledge-sharing sessions on sustainability-focused 5G applications.

By joining forces with Ericsson, Ooredoo Qatar is poised to accelerate its go-to-market strategy, unlock new revenue streams, and address the evolving connectivity needs of enterprises. This partnership is expected to drive sustainable digital growth and foster innovation across various industries.
