MUSCAT – Integrated Gas Company (IGC), Oman’s sole aggregator and supplier of natural gas, has officially launched its new Gas Applications Portal, a digital platform designed to simplify the process for industries to apply for and manage their natural gas needs.
IGC CEO Abdul Rahman Humaid al Yahyaei described the launch as a game-changer for Oman’s energy sector, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for both current and potential consumers. “This portal marks a major milestone in Oman’s energy sector digitalization. By moving applications online, streamlining approvals, and increasing transparency, we are making it easier than ever for businesses to access the energy they need to grow and thrive,” Al Yahyaei said.
The new platform introduces several user-friendly features, including the ability for users to submit multiple applications under a single account, track application status in real time, engage directly with IGC representatives, and manage multiple projects from a centralized dashboard. It is also mobile-friendly, ensuring seamless access from anywhere.
In line with Oman’s Vision 2040, the portal simplifies natural gas allocation, optimizing supply processes. It facilitates spot sales and short-term gas supply auctions, enabling quicker processing of industrial-scale gas requests. The portal is now the primary access point for large, medium, and small industrial and non-industrial gas consumers, including both local and international investors.
Through the portal, existing customers can apply for additional gas allocations for expansion projects or subsidiaries without needing new accounts. All requests will be evaluated based on criteria that support economic growth, job creation, decarbonization, SME growth, and investment potential.
The new platform also facilitates spot gas sales, catering to the growing market segment. IGC has already executed one such transaction and aims to leverage the portal’s capabilities to optimize future revenue and market opportunities.
In addition to improving efficiency for consumers, the portal aligns with Oman’s efforts to attract investment, allowing investors to apply for gas allocations during the permitting phase. It provides easy access to detailed information on standard gas sales agreements to support investment decisions.
