Pakistan and China Strengthen Cooperation in Digital Technology, AI, and ICT Development

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and China have agreed to deepen their cooperation in digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and ICT development. This agreement was reached during a key meeting between Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong.

The two sides discussed the significance of digital transformation, e-governance, and smart cities, with Pakistan aiming to leverage China’s expertise in these areas to boost its own digital economy. The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing digital development in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, underscoring the importance of technological collaboration for sustainable growth.

The meeting also explored educational opportunities for Pakistani students in China, particularly in fields like artificial intelligence and data science. Both countries agreed to enhance training programs, initiate exchange initiatives, and collaborate on capacity-building efforts in ICT and digital governance.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong assured Pakistan of China’s full support in enhancing the country’s ICT infrastructure, cloud computing capabilities, and AI advancements, emphasizing Beijing’s willingness to assist Pakistan’s digital growth. Both countries agreed to continue their partnership to achieve Pakistan’s digital transformation goals.
