Algeria’s HTT and Xiamen Airlines Sign Framework Agreement to Boost Digital Tourism Cooperation

A framework agreement to enhance cooperation in digital development and promote tourism and hospitality products was signed on Tuesday in Algiers between Algeria’s Hotel-Tourism and Thermal Group (HTT) and Xiamen Airlines International Travel Service CO.LTD. The ceremony took place at the El Djazair hotel, presided over by Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Houria Meddahi, and coincided with the close of the 24th International Tourism and Travel Fair (SITEV 2025).

Minister Meddahi highlighted that the agreement aligns with Algeria’s strategic priority to digitize its tourism sector and leverage its vast tourist potential through digital marketing. The accord further strengthens the longstanding cooperative ties between Algeria and China, rooted in friendship and mutual understanding.

Chinese Ambassador Dong Guangli praised the strong bilateral relations and emphasized culture and tourism as key economic drivers for both nations. SITEV 2025 showcased 340 exhibitors from 27 countries and 38 tourism-digitization startups, alongside significant participation from national companies and artisans highlighting Algeria’s rich cultural heritage.

Awards were presented for the best-designed pavilions, innovative tourism applications, and digital solutions, with China receiving the best foreign pavilion prize. The event under the theme “Travel to the heart of Algeria and enjoy authentic tourism and a thousand-year-old civilization” was deemed a vital platform to promote partnerships, experience sharing, and investment in Algeria’s tourism sector.
