Ooredoo Kuwait, through its subsidiary FASTtelco, has announced the launch of Phase Two of its collaboration with Kuwait Airways by activating Platform 51—a digital initiative from the Ministry of Information—on the national carrier’s in-flight entertainment system.
This strategic partnership aims to elevate Kuwait’s digital, cultural, and media presence regionally and globally. Building on an earlier agreement, the initiative introduces global travelers to Kuwaiti culture and heritage through curated, high-quality digital content that reflects the nation’s values and identity.
Phase One focused on integrating locally produced documentaries, cultural programs, and media features into the in-flight experience. Phase Two, launching in time for the summer travel season, expands Platform 51’s reach with a digital library featuring social, artistic, and documentary programming, including iconic archival works and fresh content from emerging Kuwaiti talents. This blend of tradition and innovation creates a unique, immersive entertainment experience onboard Kuwait Airways flights.
Nouf Al Mashaan, Senior Director External Affairs at Ooredoo Kuwait, highlighted the partnership as a model of public-private cooperation, emphasizing its role in championing national identity and accelerating digital transformation aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035. She praised the Ministry of Information’s support and noted that Platform 51 empowers youth creativity while delivering professional media experiences.
The collaboration demonstrates Ooredoo’s commitment to impactful partnerships that leverage advanced technology in support of government projects and sustainable development goals. It also strengthens Kuwait’s cultural and tourism profile by showcasing its heritage to international travelers through an innovative digital platform onboard flights.
This initiative coincides with Kuwait’s designation as the Capital of Arab Culture and Media for 2025, reinforcing its status as a hub of creativity and cultural excellence.
