Space42 Signs Landmark MOU with Angola’s Military Intelligence and Security Service

UAE-based SpaceTech company Space42 has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Angola’s Military Intelligence and Security Service (SISM), marking a major milestone in bilateral relations between the two nations. The agreement was formalized in Luanda on 26 August 2025 during UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s state visit to Angola, hosted by Angolan President João Lourenço.

The strategic partnership spans advanced technology collaboration across seven key domains: satellite communications, Earth observation, artificial intelligence, high-altitude platforms, national security drones, border control solutions, and command-and-control center development. The deal highlights both nations’ commitment to strengthening security, technological innovation, and long-term cooperation.

Space42 already provides full coverage in Angola through its YahClick satellite broadband service, and this agreement will be further supported by the next-generation Thuraya-4 satellite system. According to Space42’s Chief Commercial Officer, Sulaiman Al Ali, the MOU represents the “natural evolution” of the company’s longstanding relationship with Angola and a chance to make a tangible impact on national security and community development.

The MOU builds on high-level meetings between Angolan military officials and Space42 executives in the UAE, where the company demonstrated its AI-powered space technologies and intelligence solutions. These sessions generated strong interest and set the stage for the wide-ranging collaboration now underway.

Formed in 2024 through the merger of Bayanat and Yahsat, Space42 (ADX: SPACE42) operates two key business units—Yahsat Space Services and Bayanat Smart Solutions—and is backed by major shareholders G42, Mubadala, and IHC. The agreement underscores Space42’s expanding footprint in Africa and its mission to deliver cutting-edge space and AI technologies to global government partners.
