Grameenphone’s MyGP Wins Bangladesh Technology Excellence Award for Redefining Digital Lifestyles

Grameenphone has been honoured with the Bangladesh Technology Excellence Award for Digital – Telecommunications at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025, in recognition of the transformative impact of its flagship MyGP app.

Originally launched as a telecom self-care utility, MyGP has evolved into Bangladesh’s leading digital lifestyle platform, serving over 23 million monthly users. Nearly half of them securely store payment methods within the app, while more than 4 million actively engage with streaming and subscription services. Built on a scalable, cloud-native architecture with a data-driven design, the app has become a central hub for payments, entertainment, connectivity, and lifestyle experiences.

A major innovation is MyGP’s seamless digital payments ecosystem. By integrating all major payment providers in Bangladesh, the app enables users to store multiple cards and wallets, reducing transaction failures and friction. Features like AutoPay further simplify recharges, while backup payment methods ensure reliability.

Beyond payments, MyGP offers advanced transparency and control with tools such as Usage History, SIM management across operators, and Logged-In Devices for account security. Its expansion into broadband and lifestyle services now includes support for Grameenphone Fixed Internet, live sports scorecards used by millions, and the Ramadan-focused Ibadah service, which reached 3 million users in just one month.

Grameenphone’s adoption of a Partner Microservice framework has allowed the app to integrate OTT, gaming, education, and lifestyle services without new app releases, while a redesigned search function boosted conversion rates threefold. Embedded analytics ensure every feature aligns with actual user behaviour.
