Amman — Jordan’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship has announced strong adoption of the Sanad application, with around half a million weekly users and 1.3 million monthly users accessing government digital services. The app also facilitates 3 to 5 million digital transactions monthly, including service requests and inquiries, according to Al Mamlaka TV.
The ministry noted that Jordanians abroad are also benefitting from Sanad’s remote access features. To date, 1.8 million digital IDs have been activated, a key enabler of secure logins and transactions.
Minister Sami Samireyat reaffirmed the government’s target of achieving 80% digitisation by the end of 2025 and full digitisation by 2026, positioning Sanad at the center of this nationwide transformation.
Launched in February 2020 under the government’s fifth economic reform package, Sanad simplifies access by allowing citizens to log in with a single username and password for multiple government services. Users can activate their digital IDs through Sanad stations or via bank accounts at partner banks offering remote activation.
The government aims to expand the platform further, with a goal of 3.5 million active digital IDs by the end of 2025, making Sanad a cornerstone of Jordan’s public sector digitisation plan.
