Riyadh, October 21, 2025 — The Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global gaming giant Riot Games, marking a major step in advancing Saudi Arabia’s gaming and esports ecosystem. The collaboration is designed to empower young gamers, foster local talent development, and create new opportunities for players, creators, and fans across the Kingdom and beyond.
Under the MoU, SEF and Riot Games will launch a series of grassroots tournaments, community events, and educational programs within schools and universities, aimed at building inclusive, skill-oriented environments that nurture the next generation of esports professionals.
Advancing the Kingdom’s Gaming Vision
The SEF stated that the partnership reflects Saudi Arabia’s mission to become a global hub for gaming and esports, aligning with Vision 2030’s digital economy goals. By combining Riot’s global expertise with SEF’s local reach, the collaboration will accelerate talent development, game innovation, and community engagement throughout the region.
Saudi Arabia’s esports ambitions continue to grow, bolstered by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the country’s successful hosting of the annual Esports World Cup, one of the world’s largest competitive gaming events.
Investment and Global Expansion
The Kingdom’s broader gaming strategy includes large-scale investments and potential acquisitions through the PIF’s gaming and entertainment portfolio. Reports suggest that the proposed acquisition of Electronic Arts (EA) could further elevate Saudi Arabia’s influence in global gaming markets.
With these efforts, Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a leading international player in esports innovation, community development, and entertainment infrastructure — bridging local passion with global standards.
