Egypt will introduce a groundbreaking national vision for artificial intelligence (AI) integration in public auditing during the 25th International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI), set to take place in Sharm El-Sheikh from October 27 to 31.
The initiative, led by Egypt’s Accountability State Authority (ASA), positions the country at the forefront of AI adoption in public financial oversight, aligning with global digital transformation trends. The proposal will be one of the major highlights of this year’s congress, which serves as the top decision-making platform under the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
AI and the Future of Public Auditing
Egypt’s presentation explores how machine learning, natural language processing, and other AI technologies can enhance the auditing process by enabling auditors to analyze vast datasets, detect anomalies, and identify financial discrepancies with unprecedented speed and precision.
The vision promotes “hybrid auditing”, a model that blends automated AI-driven analysis with human expertise and ethical oversight, ensuring that technological efficiency is complemented by professional judgment and integrity.
Strengthening Accountability and Transparency
The proposed framework emphasizes AI’s potential to improve transparency, accuracy, and accountability in managing public funds, reducing errors and fraud, and enabling data-driven decision-making within government institutions.
Egypt will also highlight its experience in training auditors to use AI-based tools and in developing ethical and professional standards to ensure responsible and effective implementation. The ASA’s work is being viewed as a potential international benchmark for AI-driven public sector auditing.
A Global Stage for Innovation
Hosting INCOSAI further solidifies Egypt’s leadership role in global governance and accountability innovation. The event will bring together delegates from supreme audit institutions across the world to discuss digital transformation, sustainability, and the evolution of auditing practices in the AI era.
