The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada) in Al Buraimi Governorate has launched a comprehensive training program titled “Digitization for Developing Small and Medium Enterprises”, designed to help entrepreneurs harness modern technologies to enhance business performance and operational efficiency.

Enabling Digital Transformation for SMEs

The two-week program introduced participants to key digital transformation concepts and strategies, focusing on how small and medium enterprises can leverage cutting-edge tools to remain competitive in today’s evolving market. Sessions explored cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, and cybersecurity, providing a practical roadmap for integrating technology into day-to-day operations.

Building a Knowledge-Based Economy

Targeting entrepreneurs, SME owners, and employees from both public and private sectors, the initiative seeks to equip participants with the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven economy. By strengthening digital competencies, the program supports Oman’s national efforts to transition toward a knowledge- and innovation-based economy, fostering a more resilient and future-ready SME ecosystem.

Riyada emphasized that such initiatives are crucial to ensuring that small businesses remain agile and innovative, positioning Al Buraimi as a growing hub for entrepreneurship and digital enterprise development in the Sultanate.
