PTCL Group Partners with Smart MEP to Launch Vodafone-Powered IoT Core Platform in Pakistan

In a landmark announcement at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, PTCL Group (PTCL & Ufone 4G) — Pakistan’s leading telecommunications and ICT powerhouse — unveiled a strategic partnership with Smart MEP, the country’s top engineering and system integration firm. The collaboration marks a major leap in Pakistan’s Industrial IoT (IIoT) transformation, powered by Vodafone’s IoT Core Platform.

The newly introduced IoT Core is a next-generation IoT Application Enablement Platform, blending Vodafone’s global expertise in managing millions of IoT connections with PTCL’s robust local digital infrastructure. This fusion delivers a secure, scalable, and globally benchmarked ecosystem that will enable Pakistani enterprises to design, deploy, and manage industrial-grade IoT solutions seamlessly.

Smart MEP to Drive Industrial Applications

Under the agreement, Smart MEP will leverage PTCL’s IoT Core to develop LoRaWAN-based Industrial IoT solutions focused on:

The MoU was signed by Asif Ahmad, Group Chief Business Solutions Officer, PTCL & Ufone 4G, and Nadeem Malik, CEO of Smart MEP, in the presence of Syed Atif Raza, Group Chief Commercial Officer, PTCL & Ufone 4G, alongside senior management representatives.
