AMMAN – October 27, 2025: Jordan’s Ministry of Education, in partnership with global software platform Replit, has launched Siraj, the country’s first AI-powered Arabic learning assistant, marking a major step in the Kingdom’s digital education strategy.
Developed under the National Council for Future Technology and aligned with Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II’s vision to harness AI for social advancement, the pilot program has already reached over 100,000 students and teachers, recording more than 600,000 interactions within its first phase.
According to Minister of Education H.E. Azmi Mahafzah, Siraj delivers “an interactive, curriculum-aligned learning experience” that provides accurate answers drawn directly from official textbooks. Its Arabic-language interface allows easy, natural interaction without technical expertise, functioning like a conversational search engine for students and teachers.
Built in less than a month using Replit’s rapid development platform, Siraj demonstrates how generative AI can enhance self-directed learning, improve student performance, and reduce the workload for teachers and parents.
Amjad Masad, CEO of Replit, noted that “Siraj is a powerful example of how governments can use innovation to empower people,” emphasizing that Replit enables anyone to build and publish applications using natural language.
Following the successful pilot, the Ministry of Education plans to expand the program to 1.6 million students and 90,000 teachers across Jordan’s public schools.
The initiative reinforces Jordan’s commitment to AI-enabled education, aiming to modernize learning, promote inclusivity, and prepare future generations for the digital economy.
