Muscat, November 3, 2025 — In a milestone for Oman’s digital entrepreneurship, two Omani innovators have launched Ajarlee, the country’s first locally developed car rental application, designed to digitize and simplify the vehicle rental experience across the Sultanate.
Founded by Mohammed bin Suleiman al Subhi from Nizwa and Majid bin Said al Nu’amani from Sinaw, Ajarlee — which translates to “Rent Me the Car” — connects users directly with rental offices through a unified online system, allowing customers to book vehicles in minutes without phone calls or office visits.
Subhi, with a background in business management, and Nu’amani, an experienced software developer, identified a gap in the market for a fully Omani-built platform. “While international car rental apps existed, none were tailored for Oman’s local businesses or customers,” said Subhi.
The duo initially faced challenges in securing funding and convincing rental offices to go digital. “We personally visited over 400 offices nationwide,” Subhi noted. “Once they saw real results, participation and trust grew.”
Early backing came from the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) through a startup grant, followed by investment from ITHCA Group via Future Fund Oman, providing the capital needed for expansion.
Ajarlee’s platform has since been featured at major regional tech events such as COMEX in Muscat and Bibaan in Saudi Arabia, where it signed eight MoUs with rental offices. The founders now plan to add digital insurance and subscription-based rental services, with an eye on regional expansion across Gulf markets.
“The market holds immense potential,” said Subhi. “We want to show young Omanis that innovation and persistence can turn ideas into thriving digital businesses that serve the nation’s vision for a smarter, more connected Oman.”
