Amman, November 5, 2025 — Jordan has advanced to 44th place globally in the 2025 Global Digital Competitiveness Index (GDCI), marking a steady rise from 50th position in 2024, according to the latest report from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD). The ranking places Jordan 7th among Arab nations, reaffirming its growing role as a key digital economy in the region.
The IMD index assesses countries across three pillars — Digital Knowledge, Technology, and Future Readiness — and Jordan demonstrated progress in all three:
- Digital Knowledge: Up from 57th to 50th, driven by stronger scientific output and education initiatives.
- Technology: Improved from 52nd to 51st, reflecting advances in infrastructure and digital capital.
- Future Readiness: Rose from 43rd to 42nd, boosted by gains in IT integration and business agility.
In sub-factors, Jordan achieved notable rankings such as 11th in venture capital availability, 15th in research legislation, 10th in telecom investment, and 11th in government cybersecurity readiness. However, the report also pointed to areas for improvement, including mobile broadband subscriptions (65th), wireless broadband (66th), and secure internet servers (67th).
The IMD report highlights Jordan’s resilient digital policy framework, strong entrepreneurial ecosystem, and expanding ICT investment climate. Continued progress in broadband infrastructure, innovation capacity, and digital inclusion is expected to further enhance Jordan’s position in future editions of the index.
