Taager Expands into Morocco with New Casablanca Operations

Taager, the Egypt-born social e-commerce platform now headquartered in Saudi Arabia, has officially launched operations in Casablanca, marking its entry into Morocco and its first expansion into North Africa. The move strengthens its broader regional strategy across MENA, following growth in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Founded in 2019 by Abdelrahman Sherief, Ahmed Ismail, Ismail Omar, and Mohammed Elhorishy, Taager enables individuals to start and scale online retail businesses without upfront costs. Its model handles sourcing, warehousing, shipping, and payments, giving sellers a complete infrastructure to participate in e-commerce.

The expansion comes as Morocco’s digital economy accelerates, with rising adoption among young entrepreneurs. Co-founder Abdelrahman Sherief said Morocco’s connected youth and evolving ecosystem make it a natural next step, aiming to lower barriers that prevent young people from launching online ventures.

Casablanca operations will be led by Salma Ammor, who brings experience in growing digital enterprises. She plans to focus on empowering Morocco’s youth with tools to accelerate small business creation.

For Taager, Morocco represents a high-potential growth market that aligns with regional demand for accessible, low-barrier e-commerce platforms. The entry follows the company’s $6.75 million pre-Series B round earlier this year, led by Norrsken22.
