Huawei and Yassir Partner to Accelerate Algeria’s Digital Transformation

Huawei has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Yassir to establish a long-term strategic partnership focused on accelerating Algeria’s digital transformation and strengthening its position in the regional technology ecosystem. The agreement was formalized at Yassir’s headquarters in Algiers in the presence of senior executives from both organizations.

The partnership brings together Huawei’s global ICT capabilities with Yassir’s growing footprint as a digital services and mobile payments platform across the Middle East and Africa. The collaboration will focus on building advanced digital infrastructure and deploying scalable, innovative solutions for enterprises and consumers.

Key areas of cooperation include the development of cloud- and AI-powered e-commerce platforms, enhanced computing capacity using Huawei’s Kunpeng and Ascend servers, and the expansion of mobile payment services through deeper integration of Yassir Cash. The partnership will also explore opportunities across smart mobility, digital supply chains, and telecommunications to support Algeria’s national digital agenda.

Beyond technology deployment, the two companies plan to invest in ecosystem development by nurturing young talent, organizing hackathons, running innovation programs, participating in major industry events, and supporting startups and entrepreneurs. These efforts aim to build a sustainable and inclusive digital economy.

Huawei, founded in 1987, currently serves more than 3 billion users in over 170 countries and employs around 207,000 people worldwide, continuing to invest heavily in research and development to drive global connectivity.
